Ymir

Ymir was an evil giant before the world was created (perhaps the original devil) and tried to destroy the gods which represented everything good in the world.  After a long senseless war between the giants, Odin and his brothers Vili and Ve decided to ambush and kill the giant.  It stopped the war between them and they created the world out of Ymir's carcass.  Find out more under the link Bor and the first two human beings.
