The First Two Human Beings After Odin and his brothers Ve and Vili created the world out of Ymir's carcass, they stumbled upon 2 logs of an ash and an elm tree. They created the first two human beings out of these logs called Ask (Man) and Embla (woman) or Ash and Embla in English (similar to Christianity's Adam and Eve). Odin breathed life into them; Vili filled them with a soul, thirst for knowledge, and blessed them with the five senses.
