NIED

Attributed to:  Ones Need compared to "Ones Want"

NIED counsels to subjects who have patience, and reminds him of the

paradoxical phrase "to make haste slowly".  It is a Rune that suggests that

events will have to work themselves out in their own time, and that no amount

of feverish activity will draw them one day nearer.  NIED often appears as a warning

against making changes, particularly where the subject is contemplating

throwing in the towel because the odds of success are too slim.

What we need is often something completely different then from what we want.  In order to be strong, you have to know your weaknesses.  Inside you are a strong person, but you often see only your weaknesses.  Once you have figured out how to turn your weaknesses into your strength, you will see what your true "needs" are.

This rune is also known as Nyd and Nauthiz
